MY APPROACH

For me, it's all about letting the events unfold with the aim of providing a visual story of your day that captures the atmosphere, the happiness, the emotion. I mix documentary style reportage with creative couple portraits that will evoke wonderful memories, whether they are viewed as a set or as a statement piece on your wall or sideboard.

I rely on the ambient light rather than use flash. I may use it if it is necessary but ambient light is far more natural and flattering and it also allows me to work more discreetly and document your day more faithfully. Although I capture things as the happen I do spend a little time with you between the ceremony and wedding breakfast for a more intimate and relaxed portrait session. I want your portraits to look natural so I won't get you to say "cheese" but I may offer a little direction and I won't take too long so that you can get back to your family, friends and your party.

If you like the way I approach my wedding photography, please view my portfolio to see the kind of images I produce. If you like what you see, contact me, I would love to talk to you.

PACKAGES

STANDARD DAY

My standard wedding package provides pre ceremony coverage including bridal preparations and where possible groom preparations, although I always aim to spend some time with the groom prior to the ceremony and the bride’s arrival. Post ceremony I provide coverage up to the wedding breakfast speeches and cutting of the cake including a couple portrait session.

EXTENDED DAY

Providing a full days coverage, this package includes all of the Standard Day and extends to the first dance and a bit beyond.

MINI DAY

For more intimate weddings or simpler coverage, the Mini Day starts at the ceremony and concludes with formal group photos and a couple portrait session.

With all packages you will receive your photos fully edited and print ready, including a slideshow of your images, made available for download for you to use as you wish. You will also receive a personal online gallery including the slideshow for you to share with your family and friends. If what I offer interests you please contact me to check availability and current package prices.

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME...

I’ve always had a passion for creativity and developed a keen interest in photography. I was drawn to the idea of being able to capture a moment that would otherwise be unseen or consigned to a memory.

A few years ago I got married myself and was in the position you are now. We invested a lot of time and effort into the planning and the details, both big and small. When we received our wedding photos they managed to transport us straight back to our wedding day and the images, although moments, seemed to tell the complete story. I was completely inspired and this is one of the main reasons why I started to photograph weddings. Every wedding I shoot, I’m always reminded of my experience and my aim is to provide the same for you.

FAQs

DO YOU TRAVEL?

Of Course. I predominantly cover weddings in the South Wales and West Wales areas but I am happy to travel throughout the UK and photograph destination weddings. There may be some additional costs depending on location so if you are getting married further afield, please contact me.

WHAT DO WE NEED TO DO TO BOOK YOU?

To secure your wedding date all I require is a completed contact form and a 10% deposit. The remaining balance is then requested 2 weeks before your wedding day.

CAN WE MEET YOU?

I think it’s important that we meet. It’s an opportunity for me to understand more about you and the makeup of your day. We can confirm details of the venue/ venues and schedule or your day and it’s a chance for you to ask questions of me. I’m always happy to meet in person over a coffee or a beer but if a meet-up isn’t possible in person we could always use FaceTime or Skype.

HOW MANY HOURS DO YOU SHOOT?

It very much depends on your wedding. The important thing is for me to make sure I cover everything within your package so I won’t be watching the clock. As a guide, a STANDARD DAY would approximately see 6-7 hours of coverage.

DO WE NEED TO FEED YOU DURING THE WEDDING?

You don’t have to but I won’t refuse if you insist.

DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH FORMAL GROUPS?

Yes I do. Although my approach is to document what I see as it happens, formal groups of family and friends are part of the day. I will try to do them as speedily as possible so people can get back to the celebrations, this is why I will usually ask for the assistance of a best man or usher to help collect people for the subsequent group photo. I do recommend that groups are kept to a reasonable number, usually around 10.

WHEN WILL WE BE ABLE TO SEE OUR PHOTOS?

I endeavour to have your wedding photos ready within 4-6 weeks of your wedding day. This allows me to give your photos the necessary attention so everything looks its best and to provide you with a faithful record that tells the story of your day. Your photos will be fully edited in a mix of colour and black and white.
